Our Artisans
We are focused on creating livelihoods and supporting local artisans and heritage crafts in India. The craft of Tie Dye goes back over 5000 years in Rajasthan, and we love that we are keeping it alive, in its ancestral home. Our Wild Silk weavers take the discarded cocoons from non farmed silk worms in Varanasi, and meticulously craft this into the elegant fabric we use for our Wild Silk Collections.
FOOTPRINT
By minimising the distance that our materials travel between each stage of our supply chain, we heavily reduce the carbon footprint of all of our garments.
Fibre → Fabric → Dye and Print → Cut and Sew → Tie Dye → Finished Garment
From fabric to finish in around 675 miles. The longest distance our fabric travels is from getting produced by our artisans in Varanasi, to getting hand dyed in Jaipur, always by land, which takes around 525 miles. This then travels another 150 miles to our factories in Gurgaon. Our Tie Dye pieces only travel the 150 miles from Gurgaon to Jaipur and back, to turn from simple to stand out in 300 miles.
HANDPRINT
Our factory in Gurgaon, who not only create our garments, but also help us source our fabrics and dyes, is Sedex certified, which means that their organisation has undergone an ethical and social compliance assessment, and is used to promote responsible and ethical business practices within the supply chain. It focuses on four key pillars:
Labor Standards: Ensuring fair and safe working conditions for employees, including fair wages, reasonable working hours, and adherence to labour laws.
Health and Safety: Implementing measures to protect workers' health and safety, providing a safe working environment, and preventing accidents and injuries.
Environment: Encouraging sustainable practices, minimising environmental impact, and complying with relevant environmental regulations.
Business Ethics: Upholding ethical business practices, including transparency, integrity, and compliance with laws and regulations
