Hand Wash
By hand washing your garment you will be saving huge amounts of waste water. We recommend using a small amount of eco-friendly detergent to ensure chemicals are not released into our oceans.Fresh Air
Silks especially have a self cleaning quality and can simply be hung in the fresh air to freshen it up.Machine Wash
If your item has a machine wash care label inside we recommend you to use a cold wash. This will help to keep the colour and reduce your carbon footprint. -
Dry Cleaning
Finding eco-friendly dry-cleaning locations can be tricky, as traditional options often use harsh chemicals harmful to both garments and the environment. Look for cleaners avoiding chemicals like perchloroethylene (perc) and hydrocarbons. Opt for those using silicone-based solvents, similar to ingredients in household products like shaving cream. Ensure your cleaner's methods are truly green and safe for your body and the environment.
If eco-friendly dry-cleaning isn't accessible, follow these care guidelines for best results. -
Line Dry
We recommend hanging your garment to dry. Do not use a machine dryer for any delicate fabrics you own. We recommend you do not hang your clothes in direct sunlight to save the colour. -
Ironing
Hanging your garments vertically can prevent creasing. Instead of an ironing we recommend you use a steamer. For an eco friendly steam hang your garment in the bathroom while you shower, the natural steam can do wonders to creased clothes.

Satin Cupro
Luxurious and silky with a fluid drape, our satin effortlessly blends elegance and comfort. This plant-based fabric is a great vegan alternative to silk, and is derived from cotton linter — the fuzzy fibre that’s usually discarded during cotton production. It follows a closed-loop production process, recycling solvents used in its creation and minimising chemical usage. Hypoallergenic, durable, and breathable, this is fabric to make you shine. -
Chiffon
Our chiffon fabric is breezy and soft, and is perfect for creating the sexy silhouettes that FARA Boutique is known for, and it’s light weight allows it to float around you like a dream. The Chiffon we are using is currently nylon, making it our only non biodegradable fabric, but we’ve been actively searching for a more eco friendly alternative, and will start using a plant based alternative by the end of this year. -
Lyocell Twill
Crafted from wood pulp, this eco-friendly fibre is breathable and suitable for all seasons. The twill weave creates durability, and although it has a soft cottony touch, it not only uses a lot less water in production and dying, but also in aftercare, as the airy fabric is great in humidity, and needs a lot less washing than cotton or other alternatives. Its closed loop manufacturing allows the non toxic solvents used in production to be reused up to 200 times, meaning there is very little waste in this process. This plant based fibre is quickly becoming one of our all time favourites. -
Modal
Crafted from beech trees, and blended with hemp, our modal stands out as an up and coming sustainable fabric. Its production demands significantly less water than cotton, using 10-20 times less water in the growing process, and uses 50% less water in the dying process, due to its high absorbency levels. Like all FARA Boutique fabrics, it is super breathable, comfortable, and of course soft and lustrous to wear. -
Wild Silk
Our wild silk is spun by Artisans in Varanasi, who collect the silk threads from silkworms who have naturally discarded their cocoons, and already hatched into moths. This creates short strands of silk to be weaved together, making a thicker, more linen-like weave in the fabric, meaning it’s still soft, but more durable than other silks. This is known to be one of the least invasive methods of silk production, and the end result is truly remarkable. -
Silk Crepe
The beauty of crepe silk lies in its crinkled texture and appearance, lending it an unmistakable and sophisticated charm. This texture is achieved by twisting and weaving the silk fibres in a specific way during the production process. The fabric's fluidity allows the sensual touch of the skin that FARA Boutique garments are known for, but with more weight to it than the habotai, giving it a more opaque appearance. -
Silk Habotai
Our signature fabric is Silk Habotai - a delicate silk that allows our garments to drape elegantly, and as the name suggests from its Japanese origins, feel like a feather against your skin. This beautiful material not only feels amazing with its natural sheen and gentle lustre, but also has moisture wicking qualities, meaning it is perfect to absorb our eco-friendly dyes and is very breathable, allowing you to feel cooler in hot climates. The soft fall of this fabric is a FARA Boutique classic, the lightness allowing freedom of movement, as your silhouette dances in the subtle sheerness.
